About the Blog
I love reading books, all sorts of books, and I love talking about them. I also really enjoy writing, so a book review blog seems to be the perfect solution. While I’m sure picking a specific genre or theme for the books I review would be more likely to garner a small following, I don’t like to limit myself in what I read, and I don’t want to limit myself in what I write about. So here is a blog containing book reviews on whatever book and genre happens to have caught my eye.

About the Blogger
Throughout high school and college, one thing I took out of my English classes is the question, “Who the hell are you?” This was not meant to be rude, it was meant to keep us students from believing and writing as though we are the ultimate authority on whatever we happened to be writing about. I think that applies in this case as well. Who the hell am I?

I graduated from Mills College with a BA in European History and a Minor in English. This means my academic background is in research, primarily historical research, and literature. I’ve also dabbled in feminist theory and other social justice issues but am far from an expert. The books I read will likely reflect all of these interests, and my thoughts about the books will likely be based upon what I learned.

No matter who I am, or what my background is, however, I am not the ultimate authority on these books. These reviews are based on my opinions, usually after only one reading, and I am, after all, only human and prone to error. If you disagree with what I say, feel free to start a conversation. If you agree with what I say, feel free to start a conversation. If you want to start a conversation, start a conversation. All I ask is for respect to be shown to anybody and by anybody who does decide to start a conversation.
